    Hotel and resort season

    Castings are usually open now.

    Resort wear, hotels and travel on the south and west coasts, through to April.

    Christmas and year end

    Castings usually open around October 30, about 8 weeks before.

    Retail, gifting, hotels, party wear and events.

  5. 5Jan 2027

    New school year

    Castings usually open around November 17, about 7 weeks before.

    School wear, stationery, children and family campaigns.

  6. 14Feb 2027

    Valentine's Day

    Castings usually open around January 10, about 5 weeks before.

    Jewellery, beauty, couples and gifting.

  7. 10Mar 2027

    Ramadan and Eid

    Castings usually open around January 27, about 6 weeks before. The date follows the lunar calendar and is an estimate.

    Modest fashion, family, food and gifting.

  8. 14Apr 2027

    Sinhala and Tamil New Year (Avurudu)

    Castings usually open around February 17, about 8 weeks before.

    Traditional wear, family, retail, telecom and FMCG. The biggest retail season of the year.

  9. 20May 2027

    Vesak

    Castings usually open around April 22, about 4 weeks before. The date follows the lunar calendar and is an estimate.

    White wear, community and brand campaigns.

All year

Fashion weeks and shows

Colombo Fashion Week and other shows announce their dates each year. Castings and fittings usually start four to six weeks before.

Weddings and bridal

Bridal work runs all year, with busy months set by auspicious dates. Bridal shows and wedding fairs need models a few weeks ahead.

Models: a fresh portfolio before each season is the easiest way to be shortlisted. Brands: book the whole crew in one go.
